Why Creflo Dollar Needs His Dollars

By John Bloom | 11/08/2007

Every time we write about Creflo Dollar we have to point out that this is not one of those fake news articles we've sometimes managed to foist onto the public, and that the name Creflo Dollar was not used by Charles Dickens to describe a wheezing barrister in a pub, nor was it invented by a heavy-handed satirist attempting to lampoon a greedy Ukrainian.

No, Creflo Dollar is a real person, one of the six televangelists who got letters from the Senate Finance Committee on Monday, asking them to send in detailed accounting statements proving that they're not converting church money to their personal use.
Creflo Dollar Posters
More specifically, Creflo Dollar is the pastor of World Changers Church International of College Park, Georgia. Presumably he chose that name himself, completely free of fear that it would be soon be better known as Money Changers Church International by the 30,000 members who weekly enrich its coffers and make it possible for Creflo to maintain the two jets—one Gulfstream 3 and one Lear—that he uses to shuttle back and forth between Madison Square Garden (where he does a Saturday night service for an audience of 6,000) and Atlanta (where he does a Sunday morning service), not to mention occasional visits to his offices in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia and Nigeria.

Creflo's wife Taffi Dollar—and here we remind you once again that we are not lapsing into fiction at any point during the creation of this article—Taffi Dollar is responsible for the household budget at the $3 million Dollar mansion in Atlanta, and the more modest $2.44 million Dollar condo overlooking Central Park in Manhattan.

Asked about the Dollar dollars by CBS News yesterday, Dollar said it was untrue that he had two Rolls-Royces (we'd actually heard it was two Rolls-Royces and one Humvee, but who's keeping track?)—that he only had one Rolls and it was given to him by his congregation as a surprise. He also said he did not give $500,000 of church funds to fellow "prosperity gospel" evangelist Kenneth Copeland on the occasion of Copeland's 40th wedding anniversary—although he did not say how much he did give—so we want to be very careful when we say that the annual budget for Dollar's operation, his overhead dollars, is about $80 million. (Note to Creflo: Get back to us if we're a little off on that number.)

The interesting aspect of this story, however, is that so many of these prosperity-gospel guys do funnel money back to Copeland in so many ways that it almost looks like a pyramid scheme. Actually that's too harsh—what it really resembles is the marketing structure of Mary Kay Cosmetics, set up so that every time a salesperson recruits another salesperson, he or she gets a cut of the commission. And the reason that all roads lead to Copeland—see our summary of Copeland's organization in the investigative cartooning feature "Lifestyles of the Rich and Religious"—is that he's the granddaddy of what goes by many names—like "positive confession"—but is most commonly called "Word Faith."

If you look for the theological origins of "Word Faith," you end up in Tulsa, of course, and specifically at RHEMA Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, which was founded by Kenneth E. "Papa" Hagin (1917-2003), the man who pretty much created the American-style health-and-wealth preaching so familiar from late-night television. Copeland was a student there, as well as at Oral Roberts University, which veers close to RHEMA in its theology but is not always on the same page. (Truth be told, every prosperity preacher is his own theology school, since part of the basis for the teaching is direct special revelation from God, which makes all these guys the heirs of the original gnostics.) But if RHEMA had a creed, it would go something like this:

  1. God's covenant with Abraham means that God has to deliver on his part of the deal, so anything you ask for in the name of Jesus, God is required to give you. (Should we quote some Janis Joplin lyrics here?)
  2. Man is equal to God in every respect. Or, in the words of Copeland, "You don't have a God in you! You are one!" (Tom Cruise would like this one.)
  3. Jesus was not the son of God, he was a man empowered by God to be just like God, and everyone who knows this can do the same thing. (We're not sure we have this one exactly right, but it's basically "Be Jesus, go ahead, He won't mind, you're soulmates.")
  4. Jesus went down into hell where he took on Satan's nature, until he was born again, and re-emerged to start the church. (Presumably they preach this one on Halloween.)
  5. Anything you speak and believe, with understanding, will come true just as you want it. (Yes, this seems like it's the same as number one, but that one is about what God has to do, and this one is about what you have to do. It's the "positive confession" part, the idea that your thought processes can command God to act.)
  6. God promises in Isaiah 53 to heal every physical illness of anyone who has faith. (As our mentor Ole Anthony once said, "Then why aren't there thousands of 200-year-old billionaires in Tulsa?")
  7. Any Christian who believes in poverty is outside God's will. (Well, take that, you cloistered loser in the hairshirt.)

There are more, but these are the biggies. I would imagine that at this point you're starting to see why taking away Creflo Dollar's dollars could amount to more than just a little lifestyle adjustment. It pretty much goes to the heart of the whole Kahuna.

Creflo and the other prosperity preachers are running a pyramid scheme using OUR ALMIGHTY FATHER, AND THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT in an attempt to legitimize his(their) scheme. The amazing thing is that millions of adults believe in these thieves and blasphemers. It is so obvious to me, and to many others, that these preachers are but actors on a stage.Creflo is very talented, and I really mean that. He has honed his skills and is very polished and charismatic. That is where it ends though; he is wasting his talent and committing terrible sins by leading the easily fooled into the pool of fire. I pray for the lost and for Creflo also, that is what the Bible teaches us. I despise what he and others are doing but I love them all because GOD made them and they have a beautiful spirit exactly the same as all have. Their spirits are smothered by greed and Lust for power delivered to them by the devil so they need prayer. I truly hope to be in heaven with all of you and all of Gods' children including Creflo after he wakes up and realizes his blindness. I often wish I could speak to Creflo myself; I think maybe I could inspire him to let his spirit come forth to lead his heart to Jesus. Creflo could be one of the greatest disciples if he would suddenly announce that he acknowledges his message was misguided and reverses his beliefs. Just imagine the shock; a man such as Creflo ,on live tv announces to his congregation and the world that he was under the influence of greed and the devil was confusing his judgement. I believe from watching and listening to Creflo many times that he is too intelligent to believe what he asks others to believe. If I am correct, then he is living a lie and is dragging others with him and it is all premeditated. He cannot possibly really believe that God wants Creflo and the other prosperity preachers and you and I to be extremely wealthy while innocent children in third world nations everywhere starve as we speak. At this time right now, mothers' helplessly watch as their infants suffer agonizing pain from starvation and sickness while Creflo is somewhere eating a feast while reviewing his net worth in his mind. God is pleased with this Creflo? Oh, I know, the reason for that is they are not saved and don't know about sowing a seed into your ministry so that they will then receive their harvest, pressed down and flowing over(it sickens me when they say that same phrase over and over like a programmed political aide). That explains everything,God wants the starving children roaming around the dry desert to have great wealth also, they just didn't realize they should not eat their first fruits but rather give them to Creflo and Taffi and then wait at the mailbox for their unexpected miracle check from somewhere. The problem is they have no mailbox, no mailman, no firstfruits to give you Creflo. Can't you see, they are dying!!!!!! They have no rolls royce, not even one, nor do they have a lear jet,nor fancy clothes, nor a mansion to live in. In fact, they don't have any clothes nor any house nor any food nor any medicine and some have no loved ones at all nor any love nor any understanding of their place in this world but they have something that few others have have; The promise that they shall inherit the Earth and your empire and wealth will be gone and you will be at their mercy, the way that they are at your mercy now. Their time will be forever with the Father for all eternity, and the greedy and selfish have a few years at most to relish your fake happiness. A few years or maybe a few minutes? I believe none of us should live lavish lifestyles while others are suffering and starving. Period. It is your money it is true, so do as you wish, but are you really content knowing your brothers and sisters all over this world live in misery and hopelessness while you and others dine and enjoy all of the material lusts that satan has to offer. I do not think that you believe it is okay, but you are too deep now to come clean with your spirit and admit what you know is the truth. You are not too deep, just a coward who doesn't understand that you can be a real hero if you find the courage to tell your followers the truth. You would be forgiven and admired by most I believe, but do you have the courage?I am hard on you but with good intentions and with peace and love in my heart....BLESS YOU ALL...Mark

All this knowledge about the bible and yet you wish to waste it on your own opinions. If you want to talk about something talk about what's to come. God is soon to come, will you be ready. God is the only judger here. The bible says: Judge not lest ye be judged. It's time to start witnessing people. Tell the world about Jesus. Stop wasting it on people who "already know".

Mr. Bloom, Can I ask you an honest to God 'serious' question and get an even more serious answer? Of all the articles written on Dollar, Hagee, and several other ministers that you feel are fleecing their sheep, can you please let me know for real this time, if there is even *1* minister out thee whom you can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that you trust beyond *all* measure, to deliver the Word of God, 'not' have an agenda, and stick to what The Word says (and that includes heaven, hell, God, Jesus, and everything in between) even if the whole world 'disagrees' with them? While we are human, and do make mistakes, that's the main reason for us staying with the Word so that these 'things' won't happen.

I ask this question because I've seen so many different 'words' being preached, by so many different ministers (sad to say too many scared, or 'un-willing' to speak God's Word when it comes to the whole Bible, once again, that includes telling them about "salvation through faith in Jesus Christ", turning from their wicked ways, repenting, accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, in order for them to 'escape the fires of hell'.), and unfortunately very few who will "go against the grain" by saying it's God/Jesus or hell.

The church is moving further and further away from God's Word, thank the Lord my pastor (and I'm certain a few others as well) preaches nothing else but, and sadly we've lost many members because the deeper we got into it the less 'pleased' some people became (please don't get me wrong, there were some other incidents that happened in our church, but less and less people seem to want anything to do with God/Jesus or the Word.).

Lastly, I've come to learn to pray for 'all' involved here, especially the 'sheep' who need to read their Bibles more, and seek God's face so that this will not happen to them, and the ministers who've gotten caught up in the "prosperity preaching" and the "everything else that isn't of God" philosophy. May He have mercy on and help each and every one of us.
Sorry for such a long letter.

You all are some stupid people! You don't have anything else better to do with your time! Why don't you leave Dr. Creflo & Taffi Dollar and the World Changers Church Family alone? They are doing ministers who love God, and love people. They are not stealing from anyone. Every blessing they have was and still is well deserved, and they don't owe anyone anything. If you'd be honest with yourselves, you just jealous because you want what they have and can't have it. Leave these people alone and pay attention to what's in your own lives. This is crying shame to see grown people whining about other people.

Pastor Dollar,
What ever you want to call him...He's still a child of God and does not have to answer to anyone on this earth. So as long as he preaches the Word, I'm listening. I don't care what he's driving, wearing, living, etc.., I WANT TO HEAR THE WORD OF GOD!!
GET A LIFE AND STOP CONCERNING YOURS WITH HIS!!!!!!

PREACH ON PASTOR DOLLAR! PREACH ON!

Anonymous | 08:28 pm on 10/26/2008

I've got a great idea, but don't steal it!! Why don't I start a poverty minisrty for all those anti Creflo Dollar folks. They dont get it. Prosperity is not just about money. ITs your family life, job, health, spiritual etc. Ask a millionaire how rich he feels when he or his loved one is on their death bed, or their children is facing a long jail term or on drugs. Dr. Dollar's message is about total prosperity in all facets of ones life.

Clifton DEan | 10:53 am on 9/24/2008

This is very funny! I grew up Penacostal......We were constantly wanting on "god", tarrying in the for the "spirit", looking very spiritual and there was no manifestation! My foundations is penacostal and those are the roots I love - but give me a break. The best "christians" can do is attack DR. Dollar. Our world is suffering and this is the best you can do. I attended World Changers and many of the fallacies web sites put out there were put to rest.

The ministries are top notch and some of the most progressive I have seen. He does not just talk about and issue an "wait" on "god" for it he acts. For example, WCCI has a ministry call Prestige were they go into strip clubs and target prostitues; house them and allow them the resources they need to get out of that industry.

I was like many of the indiviuals that had negative comments regarding World Changers until I saw it for myself - and was amazed. The maturity of the saints in this congregation is remarkable.

For the record Prosperity has to do with your total life (Family, marriage, finances, spirit, health)
Understand no amount of giving is going to help you if you are in disobedience, sin, iniquity, unfaithful and most of all not walking in love. I am now a proud member. I ask before you make a judgement visit the church, listen to a series, and not pass judgement.

In all thy getting get Understanding
BE BLESS (Empowered to Prosper....LOL)

Ohhhhh!!!!! the devil is so green with envy and he has possesed a few people to speak on his behalf. Coming up is a wealth transfer from the wicked to the righteous, i wonder what he will do or say about that. What i like is that people can speak from here to kingdom come & the finance committee can investigate all they want, nothing will change. These men & women of God will get richer & richer whether the devil likes it or not, this is only the beginning

Call us whatever names you can find;WE WILL NOT STOP SUPPORTING THESE GREAT WOMEN & MAN OF GOD.
Freedom of choice is good coz everyone is free to choose. You have a right to your choices & we also have the same right to choose our Man & women of God.

We shouldn't follow everything that we hear preachers say blindly but should check out what they say according to the Bible. Preachers should be accountable for what they teach but we need to make sure that we don't take what they say out of context either. I don't always agree 100% with what preachers say, but I don't think that is the main argument against successful faith teachers such as Creflo Dollar. They are often judged because they are wealthy and successful in what they do. We don't have problems with athletes, entertainers, and businessmen being rich but we have a problem with preachers. If anything it should be the other way around. I have no problem with a preacher being rich or anyone else. I don't believe that God wants us to be poor. I don't see the point in it. If everything belongs to God, why would he need to be stingy with us. It is okay to be wealthy. We need to make sure that jealousy or envy has not entered into our lives and we use it as an occasion to judge those around us who are visible and easy targets. I am not overflowing with money yet and there are times when I see jealousy trying to enter into my life about people who have more money than me. When we do that, we just are doubting what God can do in our lives as well. I rejoice that Preachers can afford a mansion, a jet, and a rolls royce. I wouldn't mind having them either. As long as we have the right relationship with money, there is no problem with having it. We will all have to answer to God for what we do, preachers included. Let's not answer to God for judging other people, that's His job. Any problems we have with a preacher should be directed to a preacher so he has a chance to respond, just like with anyone else we shouldn't talk about them behind their back.

Anonymous | 01:38 am on 8/30/2009

The problem is not that he is rich, It is because he is rich off of the churches money. Creflo and others manipulate the system and use the church money for their rich lifestyles. We concern ourselves because they are not suppossed to use this money for those purposes which you do not seem to understand so therefor do no object. They preach to be humble but live in $3 million dollar homes, Hmmm. Dr.Creflo is a crook and only preaches about tithes every service....TBN is a false network. TBN is being audited because they are always having asking for money and they have a billion dollars in bank account so why do they keep asking for more money. They literally have a billion dollars that should be being used towards organizations that need it not giving to their fellow PROSPERITY partners like Benny Hinn,etc...

GOD LOVES YOU ALL AND SENT HIS SON TO BE A PROPITIATION FOR YOU ALL. WHY DONT YOU GO DOWN ON YOUR KNEES AND DO SOME WORK FOR GOD BY PRAYING FOR THEIR SALVATION IF THESE PREACHERS EVER WERE WRONG AND STOP THE CRITICISM. LET YOUR MOUTH RATHER DO THE PRAYING AND NOT BEING JUDGMENTAL AND CRITICAL. GOD LOVES YOU, STAY BLESSED

hi folks.. I'm a UK medical doctor.. my recent ex reconverted to Pentacostalism (no problem with that) then found Creflo (ah.. ) 3 years ago, bought all his books.. and though unemployed is now renting a mansion waiting for God's infinite and timely goodness to fall upon her and the kids.. but she's pennyless now, soon will be bankrupt - sustained by that pile of books suggesting that if only she tithed a little more then God would have surely provided. Utter tosh, of course. Corrosive, corrupting, irrational, exploitative, without pity. Just my view.

Kenneth Copeland did not attend Rhema. He attended Oral Roberts University and later became Oral Roberts's campaign pilot.

Many points of your "Rhema creed" do not reflect the teachings at Rhema at all. Indeed, if you researched the teachings of Hagin and Copeland together, you would see a number of variances.

I really can not bare to read all of these comments left...

My only words are these: instead of worrying about Creflo and Taffi's fortune, or how they managed to earn the money to afford the blessed lifestyle they have (whether it has come by way of Gods love, or by conning their congregation... who really knows but God?!)... Why don't you find your own way to find the same blessings and fortune- so you don't have to look at someone who is doing well for themselves and be consumed by so much eternal hate?

That is what it is... You are being hateful... Do you truly know how Taffi and Creflo have come about their wealth? Did you know that Creflo started his preaching in the cafeteria of an elementary school?

Have you sat down on many days to watch and hear him preach? It is undeniable that this man is captivating and is blessed in the sense that he is able to empower you to a better relationship with the Lord... It happened to me and I have received so many supernatural blessings once I became more aware of Gods love for me... I have to thank Creflo and Taffi for sending the messages that I was meant to see, and meant to hear... It's not their doing why I tuned into their program that very first day.. God wanted me to hear and see those messages.. So think about that.

There are many wealthy people in the world that do NOTHING to help mankind and our relationship to our Father God.. But at least I can say that Creflo and Taffi are passing positive messages to us- as help.. So think about that!

If it means paying tithes to support the church and the man that is passing the knowledge, so be it (however, dont forget that Taffi and Creflo have many businesses including a record company and YES, he DOES need a jet to travel from Atlanta to New York.. He works on a schedule that isn't aligned with the flight schedules at regular airports)... We pay for education at universities, sometimes $20,000 and more just for one year of school, and we aren't guaranteed any job after we leave...

So I say, do i have a problem with paying a tithe to help the church stay afloat? Not at all.. At least I know that God knows I am giving in order to keep his word active. And God can bless me even more then any diploma or degree could.. BELIEVE THAT!
...Churches have bills you know.. They've got to be paid to keep running.

And someone asked "what car would Jesus drive?" Jesus wouldn't have a car... Instead, he'd have so many friends around to drive him wherever he needs to go- and they would be willing... And would he care what type of car it was? Not at all, because to him it is all beautiful...

God said we can have anything that we desire.. So why question what Creflo and Taffi have? Maybe, just maybe they have realized that God is NOT a liar...

maybe you need to realize that too...

Find Jesus in your heart all of you sinners... I have.

Anonymous | 04:54 pm on 11/11/2008

It is suggested to tread carefully here - not only do you not like the man, you go as far to say that he is of the devil.

If - just IF - if Creflo is a man of God, anointed with the Holy Spirit. Would the comment you made be blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? Judging others - WOW this is big judgement to pass on to another person.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

DO NOT mistake this as agreeing with you in any manner.

Take it in truth and evaluate (to determine the significance, worth, or condition of usually by careful appraisal and study) yourself. Not others.

Is it because Creflo has money? Or is the out reach his ministry has done around the world? Is it his fancy suits? Or is the souls won to Christ? Is it the teachings on giving? Or willingness to give?

I am not sure what he teaches that would bring about such a hatred. The questions I asked - I am not interested in the response, just trying to get your thought process working.
OH - NEVER MIND - JESUS HIMSELF TRIED THAT WITH THE PHARISEES - TO NO AVAIL. BECAUSE THEY WERE TO BUSY TRYING TO FIND ALL THE FAULT IN JESUS - THEY COULD NOT SEE THE TRUTH - NOR THE FAULT IN THEMSELF.

Why do you care so much what preachers own? Let me guess, you are jealous with your broke self. Get a real job. Here is an idea for you, do an expose on all the drug pushers and pornography dealers because they are the ones causing all the moral decay. Honestly! Preachers whether good or bad are doing a great job, if you had the love of God in you, you would know that. You are just money minded and blindsighted by your greed for it & you are using these preachers to justify your lack. Folks like you are a waste of time because you are modern day Pharisees. You find fault with enyone who is doing the right thing just because they have money. Would you care if Creflo was broke like you? I do not know who Creflo or Copeland is & I could careless. I just think you should not fight your brother. You Christians are the most confused people on earth! You are divided on everything & you put each other down left & right. Get it right, learn from us Muslims. We are crazy but we are one.

mbh | 04:33 pm on 11/21/2008

you are jealous with your broke self

Huh? I'm jealous with the part of me that is broke? How can I be jealous of myself?

Get a real job

And the definition of a real job is...?

Preachers whether good or bad are doing a great job, if you had the love of God in you, you would know that.

Wait, so the love of God means that bad is great? How does that work?

Listen, the argument isn't against money. It's against preachers using the Gospel to get money. More specifically, preachers telling people to give them money and they (the givers) will get even more money. That's not right. That's not the Gospel. Christians should speak up when preachers are misusing the Gospel. That's it.

The bible says that hose who are spiritual should restore their brother if the see him in a fault. I guess that about 90 percent of most of you who have made these "critical" comments aren't as spiritual as you think you are. I know a man who had a large church in Mexico city (about 7.000) Once every two or three months he would take cash, lay it on the altar, and invite any one who needed money for anything to come get it. He said that all the time he did this, that there was usually money left over at the end of the day. Everything in the gosepl of jesus has its Genesis in a personal relationship with God through his son Jesus. Everything else is secondary.

I stumbled upon this site while I was looking for writing guidelines. As I read the comments here, I wondered if I should make my own or move on...so here I am. I don't want to offend anyone here or anyone stumbling through, so please don't regard this as being a negative....it's simply what it is; my opinion. For many years I lived in bondage to sin. I struggled each day...knowing I was empty inside. I knew about religion and was saved, but I didn't realize I had locked Jesus in a closet in my heart. I took Him in but never allowed Him to live inside of me. I was held captive by this world. Four years ago, at the age of 42, I got cancer. I knew I was in trouble and I didn't have anywhere to turn. The year before that, my mom passed away after a whirlwind bout with lung cancer and that got me to thinking about what life was really all about. I had gone to church, periodically..and patted myself on the back when I went, but I never got a thing out of a single service. My ears were not open to hear. My sister listened to Joyce Meyer and suggested I listen to her. I did. For me, personally, had I not listened to her and started watching TBN, I wouldn't be where I am today....with Jesus as my Lord. I released Him from the closet and allowed Him to be Lord of my life. I watch Creflo Dollar and Jack Hayford, and some others. I attend church regularly. My life has changed drastically as I have allowed Jesus to enter my life and that happened as a result of the people you are downing. And, I have never sent any of them a dime.....you can actually listen to them for free. I think it's not about giving to impress yourself or anyone else....giving is to glorify God. I think if I give any money at all to any ministry and I give it with a heart for God, I am good to go. Whoever I choose to give it to has to take it and deposit it where he or she says. If they fail to do that, it's nothing to me, personally because I gave like God directed me to do...once I hand it over, it is their responsibilty to be the steward God intends for them to be. I can't judge them...I'm not God's tithe-police. It's between God and the person in charge of the money I gave to God with my giving heart. God is my vindicator and He will repay....by His Word. I believe the adversary has the market cornered on television, but I also believe God has a few appointed people to spread His Word. I used to want to be my own vindicator, but nothing I could possibly do will equal what God will do for me, so it's out of my hands. I have learned to be mindful of the things that come out of my mouth or on my blank paper because we live in a highly offensive world. It's very easy to offend people these days and believe me when I say I can offend with the best of them, and I have-in the past. I think religion deters more people than it draws in because we have a tendacy to become religious instead of acting like the Christians we are supposed to act like. What if Creflo is right and he got all his stuff because God blessed him? Maybe a critical heart and a loose tongue is standing in someone's way of getting a blessing. God has blessed me since I've given Jesus reign over my life. My life is not easy as I have two kids stuck in drugs and health issues, but I can wade through the muck with ease since Jesus is doing the driving. I can't control the circumstances around me as I reap the seeds I sewed carelessly in younger years, but I am assured my next harvest will be a blessed one. I pray everyone who reads this will also be blessed.
God is good and kind and He wants to bless us if we'll just sit back and see the salvation instead of trying to make it happen without consulting Him.
Be Blessed!

wow, so many ideas. According to Ecclesiastes, there is nothing new under the face of the sun. the message of prosperity is nothing new, it has been preached before but by whom? Did Jesus preach prosperity? did David? did Moses? did Isaiah? did Jeremiah? did Peter? and did John preach prosperity? who taught prosperity and word faith in the bible? If Jesus were born in our generation today would he be asking you to partner with him in ministry by making donations to him? Would Jesus tell you to sow into his ministry via donations+prayer so you could be wealthy? We have read how Jesus multiplied bread and fish out of nothing(not out of their money) to feed the many that were hungry. Elijah performed the same miracle. There was tangible physical evidence of the presence of god. The hebrew god is a god of power! where is this power today? do we witness it? i am not talking about being slain in the spirit cuz that is stupid, i am talkin about seeing deformed made whole, not because of their faith but because god can do it. where is the message of salvation and the signs and wonders associated with it? Furthermore, Jesus sent his disciples two by two and commanded them to take nothing with them but clothes. He didn't command them to take offerings after ministering. what honor is there in men who get wealthy off you for the sake of the gospel? lets see them get wealthy from God alone without your tithes and offerings and see their word of faith at work.

All things are possible to him that believes!!!!! If you don't believe, then it's not possible......

There is nothing wrong with being wealthy. Do you think God the creator of all created mankind to live in poverty, sickness etc. Creflo teaches that the fall of Adam brought sin sickness and disease into the world. Anyone with any common sense can see that God is not in control of all the calamities that beset mankind. Creflo teaches that because of Jesus we can now experience what God originally intended for mankind to have. Peace, health, wealth. Yes our material things are not the true measure of our existence, but God doesn't mind us being wealthy he just doesn't want us to be coveteous. You fail to mention how many souls are saved, the poor are fed and people lives are changed for the better. Money should be in the hands of good men and women of God that will do the right things with it. Creflo is no better than you, he is just more enlighten than you.

Surely it is bibilical to be rich. I don't see any reason why some people are so bothered about creflo. When you believe, that's what the holy book says. Please, just believe & you will can get there too.

Thanx for believing in Jesus Christ as your lord & saviour because He is the only one who can elevate you to the highest if you believe.

Pastor Dollar teaches the basics, over and over again until something chnages in your life. Had it not been for the teachings of this man, no doubt in my mind my marriage would be in the toilet and my life even more.

Take your mouths off God's annointed.

Never had I had a true relationship with God until I heard the word of God preached with understanding by Dr. Dollar. Relationship and fellowship with God are always linked to prosperity. It is all over your bible. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Solomon, Job and the way to Jesus experienced this prosperity beause of thier relationships with God, not thier religion.

I've seen Creflo Dollar on TV and enjoy watching him. All his points are Scriptually referenced. In all your getting, get understanding. For a real hoot though, check out Jesse DuPlantis, seems like the happiest man alive on the face of the planet. The only thing I wonder about with the Dollars, DuPlantises, and Copelands is how 'untransformed' they seem to be in both speech and mannerisms. And what you see on the outside usually is a fair indicator of what goes on inside. I reference Peter, a rough-and-tumble fisherman, self-admittedly at first a profane man. Yet read I and II Peter and note the subsequent eloquence of both. Of course you always play to your audience in public speaking, a speech to CPAs will differ in style than one given to longshoremen. Yet the Dollars, DuPlantises, and Copelands always seem statically fixed at a single point in the social milieu. Well, guess they stick with what works. And at best you make use of the useful and discard the rest.

Okey, here is all you need to look at. If the money stops will the ministering go on. The answer is YES. For all of you who do nothing but be negative towards the men of God. Simply surrender to Him and you will better understand the work of the ministry of Jesus Christ. (It's funny a man can go to work everyday and labor to buy a nice home and live comfortable but if a man ministers all day no one wants him to get paid). Until then may God keep you. Donna

You have never ever read the Bible have you.. but that too could not be a valid excuse for speaking or publishing whatsoever catches ones fancy especially about other people (write what ever you like about yourself)Would like to know how much you do for charity how many homeless you feed, how many people you put thru college, lets not even get to the spiritual side of things, just answer how much do you even impact your society, how many people have been touched by GOD thru you..i dont wanna be rude dude, but isn’t it time you woke up smelt the coffee and tried to arrive at the answer as to why peoples lives get changed why people get healed at these meetings or conventions as they are called, the way one could look at it is, you would definelty not have a problem if a doctor of medicine or a psychiatrist made a ton of money for trying to help people...really dude I think the best way for you to figure the truth of what you publish is to live firsthand among thsese people ..or else what you publish is nothing but b grade stuff devoid of journalistic substance or intergrity..infact this kind of stuff even has a word i think they call it Yellow Journalism....you have absolutely nothing to back it up..next you will be saying the IRS is hand in glove with these guys...dude you not only take the cake..but the icing and the cherry as well..you honestly need to get credibility to your work...not weave some absurd conspiracy theory..

Without the risk of quoting too much scriptures and turning my comment into a bible study I can only but feel sorry for those proclaiming be-LIE-f in Christ while ignoring all of his teachings. Creflo and many like himself are all mentioned in the book of the prophets. Jeremiah spoke emphatically about those that shall come with words that seem right and shall even preach using the words of the ancients but they do so for their own personal gains. Jeremiah lamented "The Pastors have become brutish" Jer. 10:21and to add insult to injury Jeremiah continued.. "Many Pastors have destroyed my vineyard" 12:10 and Jeremiah made sure that the message was clear when he shouted in Chapter 23:1 & 2. And in case you think that the term pastor was a new testament concept, the Old prophet made it clear. What am i saying? Creflo and many like himself is part of a new cult - one that seem to make those that are poor not worthy to be partakers of the divine gift. They forget that the gospel was invented primarily for the poor and the church was instituted to see after the poor, ophans, fatherless, widows and they that are bruised. I am not against the church acquiring wealth, but its purpose is to ensure that the poor and the needy are fed, sheltered, educated and clothed. But by the words of the true spirit, The Most High promises to send true shepherds amonst his flock that will teach them knowledge and not myths. Many have made their possessions their God and to them, the fruit of their labours shall soon bear fruit and when the power of the Christ is made manifest in them whom he shall by indisputable evidences revwal to the world, they shall be ashamed. just to make a point. I am the president of a small non-for-profit organization that provides computer literacy training to disadvantaged children to better prepare them to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. I also provide life training and other training. I wrote to Creflo Dollar asking him to help me with audio visual equipment and computers and learning aids and books. I got a letter in the mail some weeks after and creflo in essence reversed my request and asked me instead to send him checks, money order, wire transfer and any other form of payment i could give to be part of his partnering and covenant. So tell me people, if i had made the same request to Jesus. How would he have responded. Anyway if anyone can help me to make the lives of young and adult boys and girls happy by preparing them to face a challenging world, please dont hesitate to email me at elohimtt@yahoo.com

I think Jesus would ride like the Amish. Paying people or praying for rides....

I've watched some issues by Creflo Dollar... I liked him, I believe he's a man who wholeheartedly believes in God and wants to bring peace and love to the people to his viewers... I do not acept all the critics against him....

Let's assume--since many are unpersuaded here about Dollar--that someone like him was indeed doing all of these things, basically robbing his congregation. Suppose you saw an old lady being mugged and getting her purse stolen. Would you just pray for her? Of course not. You would take action.
